Marin Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Aer Breathwork mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By using Aer Breathwork, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services.
Profile Information: You may optionally provide additional information such as your display name, avatar preferences, and demographic information (age range, gender, activity level) to personalize your experience and enable features like percentile comparisons.
Preferences: We collect your settings and preferences, including notification preferences, audio settings, theme preferences, language selection, daily breathing goals, and improvement goals (sleep, stress, focus, energy, athletic performance).
Communications: When you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide in your messages.
Information Collected Automatically
Breathing Session Data: We automatically record data about your breathing practice sessions, including session duration, breath count, breathing patterns used, and your CO2 tolerance score. This data is classified as general wellness data, not medical or health data.
Usage Statistics: We collect aggregated statistics such as total sessions completed, total practice time, streak information, and achievement progress.
Device Information: We collect device identifiers, device name and model, operating system version, app version, and platform (iOS or Android). We limit active sessions to three devices per account for security purposes.
Analytics Data: In production builds only, we use PostHog to collect anonymized analytics including app events, error reports, and session recordings with all text inputs masked to protect sensitive information.
Push Notification Tokens: If you enable notifications, we collect your device's push notification token to send you reminders and updates.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Aer Breathwork Service
- Track your breathing practice progress and calculate statistics
- Personalize your experience based on your preferences and goals
- Send you push notifications, reminders, and updates (with your consent)
- Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve our Service
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
- Send you security alerts when new devices access your account
- Process your subscription through our payment provider
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We share your information only with the following service providers who assist us in operating our Service:
Supabase: Our database and authentication provider, hosted in the United States. Stores your account data, preferences, and session history. Supabase Privacy Policy

PostHog: Our analytics provider (production only). Receives anonymized usage data and session recordings with masked text inputs. PostHog Privacy Policy
Expo: Our app development platform. Delivers push notifications and provides development infrastructure. Expo Privacy Policy

Mailgun: Our email service provider. Sends transactional emails such as welcome messages, security alerts, and email change confirmations. Mailgun Privacy Policy
We may also disclose your information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Service.
Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion:
- Your account enters a 30-day recovery period during which you can restore it
- After 30 days, your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted
- Your email is anonymized immediately upon deletion request
- All device sessions are revoked and push tokens are deactivated
Analytics Data: Analytics data collected by PostHog is retained according to PostHog's standard retention policies.
5. Your Rights and Choices
All Users
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data through the app
- Update or correct your account information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of push notifications through your device settings
- Manage your notification preferences within the app
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us
European Union Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including:
- Right to data portability
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to object to processing
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords are managed through Supabase Auth using secure hashing
- Row-level security ensures users can only access their own data
- Session recordings mask all text inputs to protect sensitive information
- Device sessions are tracked and can be revoked remotely
- Security alerts are sent when new devices access your account
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
8. Children's Privacy
Aer Breathwork is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@aerbreathwork.com and we will delete such information.
9. Third-Party Links
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice such as an in-app notification or email.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
